[Sept. 2020] Highly reliable, continuous power generation from renewable energy – located at different sites in Western Europe, these two complete power plants each consist of a CFB type boiler and a steam turbine generator set, with electrical outputs of approx. 90 and 135 MWe.
Both plants were commissioned for testing in 2003, started their commercial production in 2004 and are designed for base-load operations with electrical feed-in into a 50 Hz public grid. In both cases, plant operation will cease prematurely due to local permission restrictions at the end of 2020. By this time, the plants each had approx. 130 starts and have run for approx. 115.000 hours.
The plants are equipped with 290 t/h and 400 t/h circulating fluidized bed boilers which are ideal for firing fuels with high moisture content, such as wood chips, peat or lignite coal, while delivering high levels of efficiency and availability. For example, 100% biomass wood chips with variable moisture content from 25% to 40% have been used successfully.
In the absence of further operating permissions to extend the power generation at the current locations, the owners are offering each plant as one lot or selected main equipment in separate lots, on the basis of the buyer dismantling and removing the items purchased.
Both, the 90 MWe and the 135 MWe power plants are exclusively on offer at stroomsolutions and can still be viewed in operation. Asking prices are EUR 5.6 and 8.4 million, respectively.
